We need volunteers to make this event happen. Listed below are a few of the spots we need to fill. If you are interested in any of these positions, please complete the contact form below. For questions or concerns, please contact us at floridablindgolf@gmail.com with the subject line of volunteer.
Score Keepers
Each group of golfers will have a score keeper to count strokes during the round and verify with the individual golfer's coach after the round.
Spotters
There are a few holes that we need spotters to help the blind golfer's and their coach locate balls off the fairways.
Coaches
A few of our golfers traveling from across the country will need a coach. If you have never worked with a blind or visually impaired golfer, this will be a very memorable experience. The coach drives the cart, gives the golfer his club of choice, locates the ball, lines the golfer up for each shot, assists with stroke count, etc. Yes, this is very demanding and typically it is an individual that has played the game of golf at one point, but he/she does not have to be experienced.
Tournament Director Assistants
We will have a team leader during the event. This person will be helping each golfer have a great experience during their stay here in Saint Augustine. Assisting this person on any or every day will require doing many aspects from handing out drinks, driving coaches and players from the hotel to the course (in a golf cart), assisting on the driving range, loading/unloading clubs, etc.
If you have any questions, please email floridablindgolf@gmail.com.
